Drill two holes for countersunk screws through the side of the best legs at the end of the head rail and secure with 2-inch screws.

7 Place a sheet of 3/4 inch MDF or 38.5 by 76.5 plywood in the frame resting on the mattress supports.

Tips and warnings

•     If you want to paint the frame, do it before mounting after retouching all visible screw holes afterwards.
•     Extend the length of the legs to 60 or 80 inches to transform the structure of the bed into a simple four-poster bed.

Some beds have two metal mattress support bars on both sides that connect to the headboard and footboard. Other beds have a four-sided metal mattress support frame that adapts to different widths to support a twin, full or double bed.

For the bed with a wooden headboard and footboard and two metal mattress support bars, check to see if the support bars are adjustable and can be adjusted from 80 inches for a double bed to 75 inches for a full size bed. 7 Repeat step 6 to add additional batten strips until you have covered the entire top of the beams.

Tips and warnings

•     These instructions are for a full size mattress or double futon. You can adjust the length of your wood to accommodate futons of different sizes. For double futon frames, you can set aside the center of the lane.
•     Traditional futon frames are not painted. If you want to paint yours, do it between steps one and two.

Making the rail frame for bed

1 dispose two 84 inches and two 76-inch planks of 2-by-10 lumber in a rectangular frame, with the ends of the boards 76 inches on the inside edge of the 84-inch boards. 4 Position an 80-inch plank of lumber 1-on-2 inside the side rails of the bed, 4 inches from the top of the frame. This should be level with the upper part of the central support. These are the side slat supports. Secure them in place with 1 1/2-inch wood screws through the side support planks every 5 to 6 inches along their length.

Make legs

5 Miter one of the edges of 22 inches of 8 planks of 22 inches of 2 by 6 wood at 45 degrees. Divide the planks in pairs, and pair the miter edges of each pair so that they form a corner.

6 Glue the miter edges together and fix the four pairs of corner pliers to dry. These are the legs of the bed, and they will be fixed on each corner of the railing frame.

7 Insert a corner bracket into each leg, flush with one end of the legs, and secure with 1 1/2 inch screws through the screw holes in the brackets. Place a second support on the inside of each leg 11 inches from the bottom of the legs and fix it there as did the first.

Positioning of the legs

8 Turn the railing frame upside down so that the side slat supports are closer to the ground. Assemble each leg unit over one of the corners of the railing frame and push down so that the upper legs are flush with the top of the railing frame. The end of the legs with the corner bracket must be in the air, and the middle corner bracket will sit just above the level of the bed structure.

9 Fix the legs in position with G-clamps. Drill four pilot holes, one size for 3-inch leg bolts, through each side of the legs into the railing frame. Pilot holes should be placed as the number "four" appears on the sides of the dice.

10 Place the legs up to the bed frame with 3-inch wood screws through the pilot holes you drilled. Remove the G clamps, then turn the bed back up in the correct manner; Now he is standing on the newly connected legs.

1 Look for a clamp along the ends of the head and feet of the chassis.

10. Locate the pins and fixing slots on the left and right sides of the bed frame together. Push the left and right sides of the frame together to move the pins in the holes in the ends of the slots. Pull the left and right sides of the bed frame apart.

11 Find the second series of holes in the frame. Put the pins through the holes and pull the frame of the bed until the pins go to the ends of the slots.

1 Take four sheets of plywood and cut 18 inches wide on the 96-inch-long side of each. Set aside the 18-inch wide by long leftover 96-inch pieces. Router one of the edges of each plank. 3 Measure the distance inside that is between the two foot sheets. This should be equal to 94 inches, not counting the measurements of the strip. Measure 30.25 inches from the inside of the foot end panel. Stand up the third 18-inch high by 60-inch blade, then stick it in place through the lower platform. Measure 30.25 inches from the inside of the new sheet towards the top end sheet. Add the last 18-inch by 60-inch panel across the platform and paste it into place. Add the strips on one side of the two leaves of center foot, glue, let it dry, then screw the strips and nails of the open sides of the leaves stand on the strips. Add the remaining strips on the other side of the leaves and stand the screw down.

4 Place the platform on its side and start nailing through the lower platform on the floorboards to lock it in place. Check the remaining height, adding in the height of the strip as well. Take off about an inch to find the height of the side panels of the drawer. Cut the bottom board and create the sides, back and front pieces to fit the top of the bottom board. The drawer should be supported on the strips on both sides of the interior spaces as they slide in and out of space. Add pulls on the front pieces and you're done. You have just decided whether you want to stain or paint the painting.

Tips and warnings

•     If the drawers do not pull out quite easily, lightly sand both the bottom of the drawers and the top of the wood strips the drawers are resting on getting rid of the rough areas. Do not varnish or paint this area.
•     Use four supports at a right angle on the edges of the upper corners of the structure to firmly hold the upper part in place so there is no possibility of sliding.

6 Cut the corner posts. Measure and mark two 27-inch pieces and two 20-inch pieces, the 2-by-4. Cut into each pencil mark with a circular saw and sand the edges to remove rough areas.

7 Place the posts in the corners of the ends of the box frame. Place a corner post 27 ¾ inches on either side of one end of the frame and a corner post 20 ½ inches on each side of the opposite end of the frame. Measure 5 ¾ inches from one end of each corner post and use a pencil to mark the location. Drill a shallow hole in each pencil mark to accommodate a wooden dowel before using cover screws to secure the post to the frame. Drill a second hole a few inches above the first and fix with a screw.

8 Insert the dabbed wood plugs with wood filler to cover the screw holes.

Header and feet pieces 9 Cut. Measure and mark three segments 31 7/8 inches, the 2-by-4. Use a circular saw to cut into each pencil mark. Use sandpaper to sand each piece until it is smooth.

10. Join the head and foot pieces. From the top of the posts at the longest corners, measure 8 ¼ inches down and mark with a pencil. The upper part of the lower head piece must be level with this mark. Fix with a cover screw for each post, drilling a small hole for the first time for a wooden plug. From the top of the same corner posts, measure 2 ¼ inches down and mark with a pencil to find the location of the top of the top head piece. Measure 1 inch down from the top of the shorter corner posts to find the location of the top of the foot of the bed. Place all plates with cover screws and cover with wooden plugs.

11. Join the plywood support. Place the inside plywood of the frame on top of the mattress supports and secure it with wood screws.

Instructions

1 Measure the diameter of your corks and determine the length and width of your square placemat frame. The length and width of the inner part of the frame will be the same.

2 Cut two tables to equalize the measurement inside the table mat. Cut the other two boards in this length plus .5 inches. Position of the two longest boards on the edge, parallel and spaced equal to the length of the two shorter plates. Set the two tables shorter and on the edge between the first pair at a right angle. The corners are flush. Glue the boards together in this position.

3 Measure the length and width of the four boards and cut the plywood for this measurement using the table saw. Use the fence as your guide when cutting these plates.

4 Adjust the wood at the top of the boards so that the edges are flush with the faces of the wood. Glue the plywood to the boards in this position. Your wine cork frame is ready for corks to be stuck on it.

Instructions

1 Sand all sides of each piece of wood to avoid splinters.

2 Paint your wood and let it dry overnight. Use approved non-toxic paints for infants and young children, available at most home improvement centers.

3 Place the four beams in a rectangle with the shortest beams inside the longest beams.

4 Fix the joists with two wood screws at each corner, drilling through the long side of the beam and at the end of the short beam.

5. Place the sheet of plywood on top of the frame. Screw in place with a screw in each corner.

6 Reinforce the plywood with a screw in the center of each short side and the two screws spaced evenly along each long side.

7 Put a message in the corner of the frame, located in the angle formed by two beams.

8 Place the pole with four screws, driven through the plywood and at the end of the post.

9 Repeat step eight for the other three positions.

Tips and warnings

•     The low height of this bed design makes unnecessary lanes. If you feel the need for them, you can screw a 1 inch by 12 inch by 30 inch board to the sides of your frame, forming a protective barrier near the head of the bed.
