eLuxurySupply Wood Bed Frame - Made in The USA w/100% North American Pine - Solid Mattress Platform Foundation w/Pressed Pine Slats - Tool-Free Assembly - California King

How to make a wooden bed frame size Toodler

Disburse hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars for all the furniture you need for your baby: changing table, crib, bassinet, car seat, and high chair. Before realizing it, she has grown out of that crib and needs a child's bed. That's frustrating, but you can build a simple child's bed during a weekend. You can also expand in bed with additional extras, such as lanes, decals or steps.

Instructions

1 Sand all sides of each piece of wood to avoid splinters.

2 Paint your wood and let it dry overnight. Use approved non-toxic paints for infants and young children, available at most home improvement centers.

3 Place the four beams in a rectangle with the shortest beams inside the longest beams.

4 Fix the joists with two wood screws at each corner, drilling through the long side of the beam and at the end of the short beam.

5. Place the sheet of plywood on top of the frame. Screw in place with a screw in each corner.

6 Reinforce the plywood with a screw in the center of each short side and the two screws spaced evenly along each long side.

7 Put a message in the corner of the frame, located in the angle formed by two beams.

8 Place the pole with four screws, driven through the plywood and at the end of the post.

9 Repeat step eight for the other three positions.

Tips and warnings

  •     The low height of this bed design makes unnecessary lanes. If you feel the need for them, you can screw a 1 inch by 12 inch by 30 inch board to the sides of your frame, forming a protective barrier near the head of the bed.
