Fitting a twin in Full-Size
The smallest size mattress supports the frame is a double size mattress, whose standard measurements are 39 inches by 75 inches. A full-size mattress has the same length, but is 15 inches wider, or 54 inches wide.
To adjust from a twin to a full size bed, set the frame on the floor, open the two bars on each of the two sides of the frame - one on the top and one on the bottom. These interconnecting bars on the top and bottom and are held together by a latch or bolt. One interconnection bar is larger than the other, so they overlap and fit into each other.
Adjusting a Full-to-Queen Size
To adjust from a full to a double bed, not only adjust the width of the frame, but also its length. The standard width and length of a double bed is 60 inches wide by 80 inches long - which is the addition of 15 inches more to the width and five inches more to the adjustable frame length.
Pull the longitudinal frame outwards, either from the side of the feet or the head of the bed until the length measures 80 inches. Secure the frame in place with its built-in hardware or connect with its pin.
Complement the framework
Individual / full / queen adjustable bed bases have built-in bolt slots to attach a headboard and stirrup fold to the unit. Align the head of the bed on one end and insert the screws through the back of the headboard and into the adjustable bed frame. Insert two screws through each of the two legs of the head of the bed and use nuts to tighten each screw.
Fix the footboard in the same way - connect it to the adjustable bed frame with bolts through the holes in the legs of the footboard and inside the adjustable bed frames of holes and tighten the screws and nuts. It can also give mobility to the bed by inserting the high-strength furniture wheels into the short legs of the adjustable bed frame.
