Knickerbocker Patriot Bed Frame - King Size - Made in The USA - Strongest Bed Frame - Steel - No Tools

How to build a plywood bed frame

Although neither the most attractive nor the most popular wood for furniture construction, a plywood bed frame is much less expensive than other options. It is also more durable and more tolerant of errors, a ding in a plywood frame is less heartbreaking than in a polished oak headboard. When working with plywood, a frame frame is the best design for your bed.

Instructions

1 Set an 18-inch by 74-inch piece of wood and an 18-inch by 39-inch sheet of plywood together in an "L" shape. Arrange them so that the end of the blade already makes butt with the face of the shortest blade. The connection by means of two supports L-SET 2 inches of each edge of the wood.

2 Repeat the first step to build a second "L."

3 Arrange the two "L" in a rectangular frame. Connect the open corners as the "LS" did.

4. Place the other sheet of plywood on top of the frame. Its edges should be aligned with the frame.

5 Nail the plywood sheet down with a nail at each corner and a line of nails along each edge. Space the nails 6 inches apart and drive them through the face of the sheet of plywood at the edges of the image below.

6 Sand the surfaces of the wood with rough grain sandpaper.

Tips and warnings

  •     These plans are for a double bed frame. To build larger frames, start by altering the dimensions of the plywood sheets. For the queen and the larger frames, consider running a third long blade in the center of the box frame to prevent buckling.
