Choose your Marseille soap well.

There are many imitations of the soap of Marseilles. That's why it's very important to know what it really is, and how to choose it. There are only 4 companies that manufacture Marseille soap in a traditional way. Therefore, the vast majority of products using the name "Marseille soap" are not really.

To know if your soap is really from Marseille, these are the basic criteria you should analyze:

  •     It has no more than 6 ingredients.
  •     It has no perfumes or added fragrances.
  •     It is green due to large quantity (72%) of olive oil. If white means it is made with palm oil and not olive.
  •     It's made in France.

6 uses of Marseille soap.

We advise you to buy the soap in cube of 400 grams or a half kilo. It is more economical and you can leave it with a serrated knife to give it several uses.

Here are some ideas to use your Marseille soap :

It allows you to replace the bottled shower gel . It is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive or allergic skins. You can use it for both the hands, the face and the body. Does not dry the skin due to its olive oil base.

It can be used to scrub dishes. Put some Marseille soap on your scouring pad or in a brush for the crockery and rub 😉 is very efficient and economical.

It is very good as ecopetS. Wet the stained fabric, rub with soap from Marseille. Leave to act for about 20-30 minutes and clear. If necessary, repeat the process a second time.

We use it to clean all kinds of surfaces. We use it alone or mixed with water and we use it to clean the shower, worktops, washbasins and sinks or floors. Once you have cleaned the surfaces, we recommend that you pass a cloth or mop with a few drops of white vinegar (only or diluted in water) to shine again.

It is very efficient as a natural insecticide. Strip the soap and mix 2 tablespoons of hot water in a spray bottle. To eliminate pests, pulverize this mixture into the affected plants.
Making the laundry soap with your Marseille soap bar is very easy and economical. There is no need to remember that traditional detergents carry many chemicals that can be harmful to your health and the environment. We choose to manufacture our detergent with simple and natural ingredients.

And here we leave you our homemade soap recipe:

340g of grated Marseille soap (the cheese grater works very well 😉 )

A quart of sodium carbonate (or sodium) 85g.

(Careful not to confuse with caustic soda , the formula of sodium Carbonate is Na2CO3. Handle with caution and read the instructions before use)

A quart of baking soda: 85g.

Mix and you already have a natural detergent for the clothes of the whole family. We use between 1 and 2 tablespoons (depending on the type of fabric and if the clothes are very dirty or not) directly on the drum of the washing machine

    Some more tricks:

– If the clothes you are going to wash are white you can add a little sodium percarbonate.
– Instead of the softener we use white vinegar.

In short, Marseille soap is not only good for your skin, it is also the indispensable product in a minimalist and healthy house as it will allow you to reduce the use of chemicals at home.
