WHAT MAKES YOUR HAIR MISUSE?
Your skin produces the natural oil, sebum, which protects hair and hair follicles.
While it is really beneficial, it can also accumulate and leave the hair looking greasy.
Dust, pollen and dirt are attached to the oil as well, contributing to the opaque and oily appearance. Sebum is an oil, which means it ishydrophobic. If you have ever tried to mix oil and water, you will know that it will not work.
So when it comes to washing it, water alone will not do the job.
HOW THE SHAMPOO WORKS
Shampoo contains molecules called surfactants. These emulsify the sebum, allowing it to mix with water.
When it is rinsed, the water takes the emulsion with it, including all the dirt and grease.
The more fat is bound to the surfactant molecules, the less shampoo will foam.
That is why the first time you wash your hair very dirty, you may not get a huge foam - but when you repeat it after rinsing you will notice that your foam is much bigger the second time!
