What if today I do not pick up my dog's feces?

You're in the park and you forgot the bags, you got lazy to pick up your stools or you just got distracted while doing it. What happens if you leave them there?

Beyond social responsibility, respect for others, education and culture, leaving our dog's feces in the park, the street, the forest or the beach can be very harmful to the health of all of us who share the planet.

The main consequence are the "ZOONOSIS". But what is that? Zoonoses is the term that refers to the diseases that humans can acquire through other species; For example: through the feces of our dogs we can acquire parasitic zoonoses produced by cysts, eggs, larvae and worms. Some of the diseases that are transmitted through feces are typhoid, salmonellosis, hepatitis A, leptospirosis, among many others. These parasites can enter our body by ingestion ...

By ingestion? ... But how could you eat a dog's feces? In fact it is very likely that you have done it, without realizing it. If any particle of poop was in your shoes, on the legs of your dog or your toys, in the hands and / or shoes of children, any object that has been in contact with the remains of feces that we left in the park will be a carrier from the same. The stool particles will reach your home and from your house to your mouth there will be a single step.

In addition, when the faeces that do not get up dry, the particles that contaminate and contain parasites fly until they reach the food that we buy in street stalls or even in restaurants with outdoor terraces. The dried stool particles also fly and remain suspended in the air we breathe.

The list of zoonoses is very broad and the consequences very serious. Parasites can make us very sick and cause damage to most of our organs.

If we all ALWAYS collect the feces of our dogs the chances of ingesting them will be greatly reduced.

Do not know what to do with your dog's feces?

There are many ways in which we can take responsibility for the feces of our dogs. The main and most important thing is to want to do it.

  • Always have a plastic bag, preferably biodegradable, to raise the poop with it as soon as your dog finishes defecating, knot it and throw it in a trash can
  • Take toilet paper and use it to collect the poop with it, if you have a strainer with running water nearby, you can throw it there, the drain is the same that runs through your house, so it will be the same as if your dog had defecated in the toilet .
  • If you use toilet paper and you do not have a strainer nearby, you can use a plastic bag to transport it to the toilet in your house, empty the contents in the toilet and pull the lever, so you avoid bad smells in your house and possible infections by zoonosis, plastic bag knot it and throw it in the inorganic garbage.

Does it give you the sensation of taking the poop with your hands?

There are many options to avoid that hot and humid sensation. For example:

Acquire a special clip to pick poop.
Load a saltcellar with lime in a bag, it will be enough to completely cover the poop with white powder. You can make the saltcellar with a glass jar and pierce the lid to let out enough dust.

Take a plastic spoon and cover it with the waste bag, put the bag in the spoon cavity and pick up the poop with it, take out the spoon and knot the bag.
It is very important to spread this information, because the more we are responsible, the less diseases we will all have. In addition, there are many people upset because humans do not collect the poop of our dogs and the consequences of that anger end in atrocious acts such as mass poisoning.

Please be aware, disseminate the information and kindly motivate others to collect the feces.

And you know: if you do not want to eat stools, pick them up always and spread the word;)
