Best Price Mattress Adjustable Bed Frame - 7 Inch Metal Platform Beds w/ Heavy Duty Steel Construction Compatible with Twin, Full, and Queen Size

How to make a pine bed frame

The pine is a very good wood for the manufacture of a frame of the bed. It's gentle enough to be easy to work with, but still strong enough to withstand even a heavy adult. Although it is not the most attractive wood available, it is quite sufficient for the bedroom. Also, with a low-altitude design, your bedspread will hang and darken the wood in plain sight. Since the do-it-yourself projects go, a pine bed frame is simple enough for beginners that it can be done in just a few hours. These plans are for a full-size bed, but can be modified to adapt it to other mattress sizes by adjusting the dimensions of the wood.

Instructions

prepare the lumber

1 Drill two pilot holes at both ends of each of the 20-inch pine planks. Use an 1/8 inch drill bit narrower than the diameter of your wood screws. Place the holes in the center, one in every two inches of the edge.

2 Drill five pilot holes in one of the edges of each of the 52-inch planks. Use an 1/8 inch drill bit narrower than the diameter of your wood screws. Place the holes in the center, at 6 ", 18", 26 1/2 ", 35" and 48 "from the edge.

3 Drill six holes guide through the face of two 75-inch boards. Use an 1/8 inch drill bit narrower than the diameter of your wood screws. Place the holes in groups of two, every two inches from the edge. Place the system in 1/2 ", 37 1/2" and 74 1/2 "from one end (note: the last set will also be 1/2" from the other end).

4 Drill a three guide holes through the face of the five 75-inch boards that have not yet been drilled, including the one that's only five inches wide. Use an 1/8 inch drill bit narrower than the diameter of your wood screws. Place the holes in the center, 1/2 ", 1/2 37" and 74 1/2 "from one end.

5 Sand all faces of all your wood.

Assembly

6 Attach a 52-inch plank to one of the 75-inch planks with six pilot holes, which shape and "L" shape. Connect them by driving two wood screws through the pilot holes in the face of the long board and in the pilot holes at the end of the board short.

7 Repeat the first step to build a second "L".

8 Join the two "L" shapes to form a rectangular frame. Connect them with wood screws in the same way you connected the "L" s. Set the planks so that the perforated edge of the 52-inch planks faces up.

9 Adjust the third 52-inch board within the rectangular frame, in the center and parallel to the other 52-inch boards. The edge with the pilot holes should face up. Connect it to the 75-inch planks with four wood screws, driven through and into the pilot holes.

10 Lay a 12-inch-wide, 75-inch plank over the rectangular frame so that its outer edge is flush with the outside edge of the frame. Screw in place with three wood screws, each drilled through the pilot hole in the board and into the pilot hole at the edge of a 53-inch plank.

11 Set and screw into the other five planks, placing the 5-inch wide plank in the center.
