Ecos Living 14 Inch Wood Platform Bed Frame/Steel Slat Non-Slip Support/Classic Brown (Full)

How to fix a squeaky metal bed frame

A squeaky bed frame is annoying. If you live in a shared home, the screech will probably upset your peers as well. As you move around in the mattress and the box spring, stress occurs when the nuts and bolts hold the metal structure together, causing the squeaking. Tightening the nuts and bolts can temporarily solve the problem, but there is no better long-term solution: for the metal parts they rub against each other.

Instructions

1 Lift the mattress and the bed frame of the bed frame. Ask someone to help you if the bed is queen or king size.

2 Undo all bolts, washers and nuts that hold the bed frame together with a wrench.

3 Wrap each bolt with sealing tape until the threads are completely covered. Slide a plastic washer onto the screw thread to the head of the bolt.

4 Attach the bolt through the hole in the frame. Slide a plastic washer onto the threaded part of the bolt until it touches the frame. Slide the metal washer onto the threaded end of the bolt, and then follow with another plastic washer. Screw the nut back onto the threads of the bolts with your fingers.

5 Put the wrench back on the nut and screw, then tighten. Repeat with all the nuts and bolts. The bed does not squeak, as you have eliminated the metal-metal contact.
