How to install a headboard of a metal bed frame

Installing a headboard of a metal bed frame gives a decorative and functional touch to the bedroom, which gives it an attractive place to hang a night mask, dream catcher or other objects you need for your dream. When you buy a separate headboard from your bed frame, you need to connect the two pieces to prevent it from leaning or tilting. Grab a friend to keep everything constant for you while installing the headboard and changing the look of your bedroom.

Instructions

1 Remove the mattress and all the filling from the bed structure, exposing the metal structure itself. Carefully slide the frame out of the wall, exposing the front edge of the entire frame.

2 Slide the headboard into place where you want it to sit after installation. Make sure you stand in the right place. Have someone hold the headboard firmly in place to ensure it remains straight.

3 Carefully slide the bed frame to the headboard so that the holes in the front of the weft line are aligned with the screw holes in the head. Some headers come with bolts pre-installed in the holes.

4 Press the right side of the frame firmly against the headboard. Drive the bolts through the back of the headboard so that they protrude from the holes in the front. Attach the nuts to the screws and tighten them as much as possible as you press the headboard to the metal bed frame.

5 Repeat the nut installation and the screw on the left side of the header. Pull gently on each side to make sure the pieces are firmly fastened. Slide the headboard frame and the bed into position. Reassemble the mattress and the filling.

Tips and warnings

  •     Most header kits come with screws, nuts, bolts and installation instructions. Be sure to read and follow the manufacturer's specific instructions, since different designs will have different requirements.
  •     If your headboard and bed frame do not arrive aligned for easy installation, manufacturers sell adapters that connect the bolt holes in the frame to those in the head. You will have to remove the screws from the head of the bed and install the adapter before fixing the frame of the bed. Follow the specific instructions on the product if you have problems.
