How to remove brown rings and stains from the toilet bowl

How to remove brown rings and stains from the toilet bowl

There is nothing less attractive in the bathroom than a dirty toilet. Even if you have cleaned the bathroom, hard water can leave a buildup of brown mineral deposits inside the toilet bowl, causing unsightly stains. Although there are commercial products available to eliminate brown rings and stains on the toilet, effective home remedies provide alternatives to chemical-laden products. Once the hard water spots are removed, it is important to keep the toilet bowl clean to prevent stains from coming back.

  1. Pour 12 oz (354 ml) of glue into the stained toilet bowl and clean it in circles with a bath brush. Leave the glue in the toilet water for an hour to remove the mineral stains.
  2. Unload the toilet to wash the glue and loosen the brown rings and spots. Scrub the sides to remove mineral deposits removed by the tail.
  3. Add 1 cup of white vinegar to the toilet water to dissolve the rest of the stains. Sprinkle baking soda over the brush to add a mild abrasive.
  4. Rub the surface of the toilet bowl with the brush covered in baking soda to remove the remaining stains. Discharge the toilet to rinse the surface.
