From January 1, 2019, on behalf of the Moscow Region Governor, the Moscow Region will completely switch to separate waste collection. Regional operators will be engaged in the replacement of containers and the acquisition of garbage trucks, which will be selected on a competitive basis.

Now in the suburbs set special containers of blue and gray. The first is designed for glass, plastic and paper, the second - for food waste.

Some residents have already begun to practice separate garbage collection. Most of them install two buckets in the kitchen for different types of waste. It is advisable to take non-food clean, that is, in the process of sorting they need to be washed.
Garbage from the container site takes a special car, for each tank comes a car of the appropriate color.
“The gray car will go to the sorting station, from these wastes you can choose 5% of the useful fractions. Blue will go on sorting. Useful fractions will be selected from the waste and sorted, ”said Yevgenia Sokolov, advisor to the general director of the RT-Invest garbage collection company.

Waste from the blue garbage truck will be sorted manually on the tape: plastic, glass and paper will be sent separately for recycling. So, the paper will go to egg containers, glass to heat insulation, plastic to stationery. Food waste will be heat treated. The remaining small amount of unprocessed remains will be buried.
The project for separate waste collection in the Moscow region was implemented in 13 pilot territories: Balashikha, Podolsk, Shatura, Ozory, Dolgoprudny, Krasnogorsk, Solnechnogorsk, Khimki, Domodedovo, Ivanteevka, Mytishchi, Dubna and Noginsk.
