Having white teeth can give you a bright smile and increase your self-confidence. Fortunately, you don't have to spend a lot of money on tooth whitening products or professional treatments. You can whiten your teeth with baking soda at home.

Method 1
Basic Method

one
Mix baking powder with water or lemon (both work). In a small bowl, mix a few drops of water or half a teaspoon of lemon baking powder. Make sure it becomes a paste, so it will be easier to apply. You can use a toothbrush or fingers to apply the paste to your teeth. If there is a bad stain you want to remove, it is recommended that you apply the paste directly to the stain and leave it for about two minutes. Just like washing dishes, some stains need extra scrubbing. This may also apply to stains on your teeth, use a toothbrush or fingernails to scrape off any remaining dirt.
For better results, you can dry the tooth surface with a gauze before using the paste.
If you want a general whitening effect, soak your toothbrush in baking soda paste and start brushing. [one]
Alternatively, if you submerge the wet toothbrush directly into some baking powder, the powders adhere to the bristles; However, if you use this method the taste of baking powder will be very strong.

2nd
Brush your teeth for a minute or two. Brush your teeth as you normally would, but apply the brush to all ranges and gaps. Brushing your teeth for more than two minutes, because baking soda is a mild abrasive and may begin to erode the enamel on your tooth. Make sure that the scrub is completely up / down (such as the type of scrub you see in the films) and does not irritate the sides. [2nd]
Make sure you use a soft toothbrush and gently brush your teeth.
Know that baking soda is not particularly pleasant!

3
Rinse with water. Spit baking soda and rinse mouth with water or rinse water. Rinse your toothbrush well.

4
Repeat every other day. Brush your teeth with baking soda every other day for a week or two. In just a few days you will notice a slight difference in whiteness of your teeth and after a few weeks you will notice a significant difference. [one]
After applying this method every few weeks every two days, you should reduce it to once or twice a week. This is because, if baking soda is used frequently, its abrasive properties can damage enamel on its teeth. [2nd]
Remember that brushing your teeth with baking soda should not replace brushing with toothpaste regularly. Regular brushing helps cavities, plaque build-up, fight gum disease, and keep your breath clean. [2nd]
Before you start whitening your teeth with baking soda, ask your dentist if your teeth are healthy enough to do so. Some patients may have enamel mineralization defects that contraindicate this treatment due to the increased corrosive effect.

Method 2
Alternative Methods

one
Mix the baking powder with hydrogen peroxide (oxygenated water). Hydrogen peroxide is another excellent household product that can be used to whiten teeth effectively. Mix only half a teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide with one teaspoon of baking powder until it becomes toothpaste. Brush your teeth with this mixture, then leave it in your teeth for a minute or two. Clean with mouthwash or water. [3]
Hydrogen peroxide (known as oxygenated water) is found in most pharmacies and is usually sold in a brown opaque bottle to prevent it from reacting with light. The one that is safe for oral use is 3% hydrogen peroxide. [3]
An effective antibacterial rinse water is made with hydrogen peroxide. Dilute the hydrogen peroxide with an equal amount of water. [4]

2nd
Mix baking powder with lemon or lime juice. Since citric acid in these fruits is an effective bleaching agent, baking soda can also be mixed with fresh lemon or lime juice. Mix half a teaspoon of freshly squeezed lemon or lime juice with half a teaspoon of baking soda. Apply this mixture to your teeth using a toothbrush and allow to stand for about one minute before thoroughly rinsing. [5]
Remember that most dentists do not recommend this method because citric acid in fruit juice is corrosive and will damage teeth. [6]

3
Mix baking powder with toothpaste. To get the whitening benefit of baking powder, you can mix some baking soda with your regular toothpaste. This will combine with the strengthening and protective properties of fluoride toothpaste. After squeezing the toothpaste on the toothbrush a little, sprinkle some baking soda on it, then brush it normally.

Tips

Brushing the gums as this may result in a burning sensation and bleeding.
Repeat the use of baking soda every two weeks.
If you use lemon and baking soda paste, brushing your teeth within 30 minutes after using this method.
Baking soda and lemon after the method, do not stay in your teeth immediately brush or teeth will erode. Improper use will damage tooth enamel.
Using an electric toothbrush will help you brush your teeth more quickly and effectively.
Each time, try not to forget a place to brush different parts of the teeth.
Also check with a dentist before doing them.
Make sure that the mixture does not make it too watery, a more solid-looking paste may be better.
You can add a drop of flavored extract to make the mixture more pleasant and refreshing.
Avoid brushing your teeth for more than five minutes.

Warnings

The baking soda can dissolve the orthodontic adhesive. Do not use this method if you have braces or a permanent retainer in your mouth.
Brushing your teeth too hard, because the tooth damages the enamel (abrades), exposing the tooth bone, causing hypersensitivity.
Do not use this method too often because wear will permanently damage the enamel of your teeth. Some special brands of toothpaste (usually for smokers) contain much softer abrasives other than baking soda. They can be used daily without any risk to dental health, and they help not only remove tobacco stains, but also coffee, tea and wine stains, unless you are side brushing.
