The Towel Paper and Its Negative Impacts

Endless paper
Have you ever stopped to think how much paper we discard daily after only once? We refer specifically to the famous paper towel. That kitchen breaker, that fits everything. However, this role has a great impact on the environment because it can not be recycled. Made of virgin cellulose, it has an impact not only on environmental degradation, but also on the entire production process, with excessive water consumption and deforestation. In its slow process of decomposition, paper releases methane gas, one of the main causes of the greenhouse effect.

Goodbye, dioxin!
In addition, this paper has an extremely toxic chemical. Dioxin is used to whiten the leaf and when in contact with the body (internally and externally), it can mess with the regulation of cell growth, inducing or blocking the death of cells. To avoid contact with dioxins, prioritize naturally white or non-white papers, especially when dealing with items that come in direct contact with the body and food, such as paper towels, coffee filters, etc.
To reduce the impact on the environment, we recommend the use of recyclable paper. But it is worth remembering that even the recycled and biodegradable models, after certain uses, are without ecological solution.

The solution is simpler than we think
Ecologically speaking (since this is our language), the planet would be grateful if all paper towels were replaced with ecological flannels , such as POSITIV.A. In addition to being reused thousands of times, they are made from recycled cotton and PET bottle, which would be disposed of in the environment. The flannels do not use water in their manufacturing process and do not use dyes or any chemicals. At each meter of the fabric produced, 8 PET bottles and 480g of textile waste are removed from the environment.
Reducing waste, avoiding the emission of CO2 into the atmosphere and saving water, is possible with a simple change of habit.
