What are the differences between paper towels?

There are many different types of paper towels, but this is not to say that all paper towels are the same. The thickness or layers of the paper towel may vary, as are the strength and absorptive capacity of the different towels. You can do your own tests to determine what differences offer the best paper towel performance.
Force

The strength of the paper towel refers to the amount of weight a wet towel can withstand before the tears. You can determine the strength of different paper towels by dipping the towel, holding two ends of the paper towel and then adding weight. The towel that can contain the heaviest weight is the strongest. The strength of the paper towel may vary depending on how wet it is. Test towels by using a few drops of water, an average amount of water and then a paper towel that has been soaked.

Absorbency

Absorbent paper towels have two different factors: the amount of water that can be absorbed and how quickly the liquid is absorbed. A paper towel that you can quickly learn the liquid and collect a large amount of liquid is the most absorbent. When testing the different paper towels make sure to use a fixed size, as not all paper towels are the same size. You will have to cut all the paper towels for one size.
Layer

The layer of paper towels depends on how many layers of paper are used. There is a single layer of paper towels with a layer. Double layered paper towels are made of two layers of paper. The layers are joined using a embossing technique. Triple layer with three layers of paper. In general, the more layers in the absorbent paper towel and the stronger the paper towel. The embossing technique that unites the layers also allows the water to absorb and eject between the layers, accelerating the absorption capacity of the towel.
Recycled vs. Virgin

Some paper towels are made of recycled materials, while others are considered virgin paper. This could affect the ability to absorb water-as the paper recycles the cellulose fibers become more and shorter. Finally the fibers will become too short and can not be used in paper towels. Test the strength and absorptive capacity of paper towels to determine whether recycled paper has a similar absorption capacity and strength as Virgin paper towels.
