How to give up paper towels


Paper towels are a convenient way to fix a mess, but they also create large amounts of trash. If you use paper towels in your home, you can help the environment and save money by giving them up altogether. As with any other habit change, it may take some time for you to get used to not using disposable towels.

Instructions

1 Buy at least a dozen cheap kitchen cloths. You can find them in the supermarkets and stores for the home of goods. It also can keep and cut up the leaky absorbent towels and t-shirts.

2 Buy a small basket of clothes or bin diapers and place it in your laundry room.

3 Use spill cloths or rags, cleaning and all other paper towels before being handled.

4 Place dirty towels in the specific container or basket, and wash them when you have a full load.
Tips and warnings

  •     You can keep a couple of rolls of paper towels close to ease than in the transition, but the ultimate goal is to get rid of them completely.
  •     The more kitchen cloths you have, the less tempted you will be to reach a paper towel.
