How to change the oil in a Husqvarna Riding lawn mower

How to change the oil in a Husqvarna Riding lawn mower

Husqvarna recommends changing the oil on your lawn mower at the beginning of each mowing season. This will help prolong the life of your mower by keeping the moving parts inside the crankcase properly lubricated. Dispose of old oil properly-many auto parts stores can have old engine oil for you. The Husqvarna uses a drain pipe hose to drain the engine oil into a container. If you cannot find the original tube, purchase a ½ inch diameter hose that is at least 12 inches long.
Instructions

1 Park your Husqvarna tractor mower on a flat surface. Put the brake on and shut down the engine. Open the Huqvarna mower hood.

2 Locate the oil fill tube and drain plug. The oil dipstick is placed under the fill tube cover. Turn the lid counterclockwise to remove the cap and dipstick from the oil fill tube. Clean the rod with a cloth and leave it aside.

3 Pull the lid on the nipple drain tube attachment. The drain pipe will be in the lower right side of the motor between the front wheel and the driver's area. Place a small diameter hose over the nipple and place the other end of the hose in a container to control the oil.

4 Push the drain valve lightly and turn the valve counterclockwise to open the drain and drain the oil. When the oil is no longer coming from the drain hose, push the drain valve slightly and turn the valve clockwise to close the oil drain valve. Remove the hose from the drain nozzle and clean the clean area. Push the protective cap over the drain nipple.

5 pour 48 oz. weight SAE 30 engine oil into the oil fill tube. Insert the rod into the fill tube and screw the cap to the right. Unscrew the lid and pull the dipstick out of the fill tube and check the oil level. There is a mark and "low" full of the rod. Add more oil if necessary. Place the rod back into the filler and secure the lid to the fill tube.
