Stains How to clean ceramic tile grout

Grout is an important part of ceramic tile installation; It not only works for tiles, but also keeps the moisture and dirt from getting behind the tiles. Grouting ceramic tile can be dirty or stained over time. Mildew, dirt and other substances can stain grout from tile, making the surface tiled all look dirty. You can clean stained grout quickly with the right products and methods.

Instructions


• Scrape of any debris pieces stuck in the grout with a blunt knife. Do this carefully to not chop the tile grout.

• Sweep all tile surface completely to remove debris, dirt, and dust. Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush or broom to sweep the surface.

• Fill a clean, empty spray bottle with equal parts white vinegar and hot water. Shake the bottle to mix the ingredients.

• Spray vinegar solution into stain grout. Let stand for about ten minutes on stains.

• Scrub Dirty grout with a grout brush or old toothbrush. Apply more than vinegar solution and continue washing until stains have disappeared.

• Rinse the grout with a rag and water.

• Squirt Plain, white shaving cream in grout for an alternative stain extraction method. Leave the shaving cream in the grout for about five minutes, scrub with a grout brush or old toothbrush and then rinse with a rag and water.

Tips and warnings

  •     Make a paste of hydrogen peroxide and bicarbonate for stains on the light-colored grout. Spread the dough over the stain and wait ten minutes before scrubbing and rinsing. Peroxide is a whitening agent and can change color of grout.
