How to clean grout with an organic cleaner

Grout may contain mold, mildew, dirt, and germs, especially when in a humid environment. Many cleaning products, such as chlorine bleach and mildew and fungus removers, are toxic to people and pets. Clean your grout with an organic cleanser such as vinegar, baking soda, borax, or hydrogen peroxide in place. Acid in white vinegar cleans, lightens and kills mold, fungus and germs without hard fumes or skin irritation, while it kills borax and prevents mold formation. Soft abrasives Baking sodas help the scrub spots away, and peroxide cleans and disinfects with oxygen bubbles.

Grout Cleaner Product


Instructions
Vinegar

1 fill a bottle of spray with the full force of white vinegar.

2 Spray the grout thoroughly with white vinegar. Let stand for five to ten minutes.

3 Rub the grout with a toothbrush or grout brush.

4 Rinse the grout with water from a shower head, or fill a glass with water and pour it over the grout.

5 Dry the grout with a towel.

Hydrogen peroxide

6 Fill a spray bottle with oxygenated water.

7 Spray the grout thoroughly with the peroxide. Let stand for 10 to 15 minutes to rinse grout and kill any mold appearance.

8 Scrub grout with a grout brush or toothbrush.

9 Rinse the grout with a showerhead or pour a cup of water over it.

10 Dry the grout with a towel.

Sodium bicarbonate

11 Fill Half a medium-sized container with baking soda. Add enough water to make a thick paste, and stir with a spoon until smooth.

12 Apply the baking soda paste to the grout with a toothbrush or grout brush, rubbing gently to release debris. Let the pasta sit in the grout for five minutes, or until it dries.

13 Rinse the grout with water from a shower head, or pour cups of water over the grout.

14 Dry the grout with a towel.

Borax

15 Add 1 gallon of hot water to a bucket, and stir in 1/2 Cup borax with a spoon.

16 Dip a nylon scouring pad into the bucket, and scrub the grout with a borax solution.

17 pour water over the grout to rinse, or leave the borax solution in the grout to avoid future mildew and mildew growth. If you decide to wash the grout, dry it with a towel.
