How to smooth the tile grout on the wall

When it comes to installing new tile or cleaning and re-grouting the pre-existing tile, grout is the last integral and cosmetic step before the finish line. Grouting Wall tiles is a moderately difficult task to complete because work can cause problems. Therefore, it is necessary to take your time when it comes to softening the grout on the wall tile for a clean finish. Putty and sealant also help soften grout.

Instructions

1 Apply pre-sealer to the shingle by cleaning or rolling in the liquid in a transparent, soft coat with an aluminum scouring pad or roller. Allow sealant to dry for at least 24 hours.

2 Use a paddle, mix the grout with water in a clean container. It is mixed until a thick and soft consistency like toothpaste or peanut butter is obtained. If the grout can be easily poured, the mixture has too much water. Add more cement grout to the mixture if necessary.

8 seal grout after wet curing for at least three days. Use a penetrating sealant, and apply with a sponge or spray bottle. Clean any excess sealant from the tiles immediately before it dries on the tile.

Tips and warnings

  •     "Wet cure" of grout, lightly spraying grout joints with clean water twice daily for three days. This helps to maximize grout strength. The grout must be completely cured and dried for at least 24 hours before using the area.
