It is often difficult to clean the grout. Cleaning tile floors with a rag, sponge or mop may result in clean tiles, but usually not clean grout unless it is sealed. Fortunately, there are several methods you can use to properly clean the unsealed floor grout and keep it clean.
Chlorine Bleach
White grout can be cleaned with chlorine. Windows and doors to ventilate the room. Mix 1 part chlorine with 5 parts water in a spray bottle. Liberally sprinkle it over his grout. Rub the grout line lightly with a grout brush or toothbrush, but do not rinse in the trash. Add more solution while rubbing. Leave bleach solution for up to five hours. Rinse the solution out and your grout should be clean. To maintain a clean soil, whenever mopping the floor, add a cup of oxygen bleach to the mop water and let the mixture rest on the floor for about 30 minutes before rinsing.
Make your own cleaner
Use a high-strength tile cleaner to clean your grout or make your own with several common household ingredients. Mix 7 cups of water, 1/2 cup of baking soda, 1/3 cup of ammonia and a 1/4 of white vinegar in a spray bottle. Spray the solution over your grout and use a sponge or rag to clean the grout. Scrub also, if necessary, to get farther into the grout. Wax Removers also work well for clean grout. Never mix chlorine with ammonia or use ammonia, where chlorine has been used. Vapors are toxic and can be deadly.
Seal your grout
Grout has porous holes that are stained and dirty, which is what makes it hard to clean. Therefore, after your grout is cleaned, seal it. Use a grout sealant and apply according to package directions. You can also use a masonry sealant in the colored grout.
