How to repair a lawn mower Murray Riding Carburetor

Murray manufactures a series of push and assemble models of lawn mowers that feature Briggs & Stratton engines. Your Murray lawn mower may fail to function properly for a number of common carburetor-related reasons. Instructions

1 Turn off the Murray lawn mower assemble and open the hood over the front of the motor.

2 Locate carburetor. Briggs & Stratton Engine The Murray will have its carburetor along half the right side of the engine. It has a distinctive bowl shape.

3 Turn the needle valve at the bottom of the Murray mount the mower carburetor to the right until you can no longer rotate the additional valve. Twist the two-round valve back to the left, and then try to run the Murray lawn mower.

4 Listen to the lawnmower and see how well it runs. Check for engine sputtering. Carburetor needle valve controls the air inlet in the engine. This intake should be set correctly for the Briggs & Stratton engine to operate smoothly. Twist the carburetor needle valve for each side to further adjust the air intake, then try to run the cutter again.

5 Loosen the fuel cap on the gas tank if the Murray lawn mower does not yet run properly. Note the small hole in the tank cap. This is a ventilation hole that controls the air inlet in the gas tank, which finally passes to the carburetor. Make sure this vent hole is not blocked.

6 Insert a pipe cleaner or similar small brush device into the vent hole to clean it. Fuel tank cap Screw back into the Murray lawn mower tank.

7 Place a tray under the carburetor. Examine the carburetor container and loosen the lower nut using a socket wrench. Allow all the gas to drain into the container.

8 Remove the carburetor nut from the Murray lawn mower completely and wipe with a cloth.

9 Place the cup nut in a carburetor cleaning solution and scrub the nut with a wire brush to clean any buildup.

10 Restarting the Murray mount the lawnmower Carburetor Cup onto the motor and tighten in place by replacing the nut with the socket wrench.
